Eco & Organic Baby Products

Eco-friendly and organic baby products have exploded in popularity — but “organic” on a label doesn’t automatically mean safer, cleaner, or better for your baby. USDA Organic certification applies to food and farming; in personal care products, the term is largely unregulated. The same goes for “natural,” “plant-based,” and “non-toxic.”

This section cuts through the greenwashing to help you find baby products that are genuinely cleaner — with transparent ingredient lists, meaningful third-party certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, EWG Verified), and lower environmental footprints. We cover organic skincare and body care, plant-based cleaning products, GOTS-certified organic cotton clothing and bedding, eco-friendly diapering (cloth diapers, biodegradable disposables), and non-toxic nursery products.

We evaluate every product against four criteria: ingredient transparency, certification credibility, packaging sustainability, and whether the eco-claims hold up to scrutiny. We flag greenwashing when we see it — including brands that use “natural” as marketing language while still including fragrance, synthetic preservatives, or ingredients with poor EWG ratings.

We also help you prioritize. Going fully eco-friendly across every baby product category isn’t realistic for most families. We identify the highest-impact swaps — the products where cleaner ingredients and sustainable materials make the most meaningful difference for your baby’s health and your environmental footprint.

Browse the guides below to find genuinely eco-conscious products that live up to their claims.
